Screening Process Soon to Be Explained

Icelandic authorities are expected to announce today or tomorrow how screening of arriving tourists at Keflavík International Airport will be conducted once the country opens its borders June 15, mbl.is reports.
Kári Stefánsson, CEO of deCode Genetics, met with Chief Superintendent Víðir Reynisson, Chief Epidemiologist Þórólfur Guðnason and Director of Health Alma Möller on Friday to discuss deCode’s role in the screening process.

According to Víðir, deCode views its participation in the screening as its social duty. “They have put a lot of work into this so far, and they’re ready to continue helping us,” Víðir states.
Following the meeting, Kári told reporters that deCode Genetics intended to assist, provide advice, donate software and give access to specialized knowledge regarding the screening process.
