A car landed in the ocean by Nauthólsvík geothermal beach in Reykjavík last night, mbl.is reports. The driver was able to get out of the car onto dry land, but the car was completely submerged.

A group of divers was sent to the scene after the accident had been reported. They fastened ropes to the vehicle so it could be pulled to land. When they arrived, the car had drifted about ten meters (33 ft) from the shore.

No information is available regarding the condition of the driver of the car, who had gotten out of the vehicle once firefighters arrived.
