A great deal of secrecy surrounded the arrival of a foreign film crew in Iceland last month, Morgunblaðið reports. The crew came to work on a large promotional video for the new iPhone 13 Pro, available for purchase today.

Apple Inc. wanted to demonstrate that iPhone 13 Pro could be used for shooting videos under the most difficult conditions, which is why it was decided to film here in Iceland. You can watch the results in this video, posted on YouTube:

Most of the promotional video, which is two minutes and 40 seconds long, was shot in Iceland, but some scenes were shot in a Los Angeles film studio. The video has been viewed more than 17 million times on YouTube.

Shooting of the video took place on Langjökull glacier in severe weather over a period of four days. More than 100 people participated in the project, 20 of whom came from abroad and the rest of them Icelandic. Sources tell Morgunblaðið that the Icelandic film production company Pegasus Pictures oversaw filming here in Iceland, but that could not be confirmed by company officials.

The new iPhone will not be available in all countries today. People in Iceland will have to wait until October 8 to purchase one.
