Katrín Tanja is the third Icelander to qualify for the tournament, with Breki Þórðarson and Bergrós Björnsdóttir securing the right to qualify earlier in the year. Þórðarson competes in the adapted category, while Björnsdóttir competes in the category of 16 to 17 year old girls.

It is the tenth time Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir has entered the World Games, having won it in 2015 and 2016. Last year, she did not make it to the Games.

More Icelanders will be making their comeback at the world games next weekend when the European qualifying tournament takes place in Berlin, Germany. Davíðsdóttir currently resides in Idaho, USA, and competes in the western part of the country.

Ragnheiður Sara Sigmundsdóttir, Þuríður Erla Helgadóttir, Annie Mist Þórisdóttir, Sólveig Sigurðardóttir and Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson will all compete in Berlin next weekend.
