There is a lot of traffic in the biggest skiing areas in Iceland, like Bláfjöll near Reykjavík, Ísafjörður in the Westfjords and Hlíðarfjall in Akureyri. mbl.is/Eggert Jóhannesson

It looks like a good time for skiers in nearly all of Iceland during Easter. The weather is good today and in the coming days and especially bright and beautiful in the southern part of the country. However, on Saturday and Sunday, it could be more overcast in the northeast and east with possible downpours.

The largest ski resorts, such as Bláfjöll, Ísafjörður and Hlíðarfjall, have been popular, as the weather has been good.

A large number of people were in the Bláfjöll yesterday and those who went to the top peak had a great view of the volcanic eruption on Reykjanes peninsula, where the exhaust from the crater created large clouds in the high-altitude atmosphere.
