Hreiðar Már Sigurðsson and Guðný Arna Sveinsdóttir who also worked for Kaupþing are charged with fraud and inside trading.

 As Iceland remembers the ten year anniversary of the economic crash in Iceland, the case of Hreiðar Már Sigurðsson has gone to the Reykjavik District Court. 

Sigurðsson, the former director of Kaupþing bank is accused of having abused his potition and placed bank funds in considerable danger when he made the bank place a loan of 574 thousand Icelandic kronas into his own company in 2008. 

Sigurðsson has received five different charges against him since the economic crash. He received a prison sentence of five and a half years in the Al-Thani case and six months in another Kaupþing case.
