Iceland's Prime Minister, Katrín Jak­obs­dótt­ir, met with Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Government in Capitol Hill in Washington. This is reported on the website of the Icelandic Government .

Jakobsdóttir and Pelosi talked about the bilateral agreement between Iceland and the United States and how the nation have had a growing relationship in the last years, not least when it comes to cooperation in the field of environmentand, climate change and the Nordic countries.

They also talked about the situation in Ukraine, about climate change, fair trade and the backlash that the fight for equal rights has seen in the last years in the world.

After the meeting with Pelosi, Katrínsdóttir had a meetingwith Angus King and Lisa Murkowski, senators for Maine and Alaska. They discussed their proposal about the Nordic Countries.
