Stórglæsilegar með ör eftir bólur

Sumt fólk eyðir mörgum árum í að skammast sín fyrir bólur og þegar þær loksins hverfa skammast fólk sín fyrir örin eftir bólurnar. Það er þó algjör óþarfi að skammast sín fyrir þetta tvennt rétt eins og hvað annað sem passar ekki inn í hina fullkomnu líkamsímynd.

Aukin umræða um náttúrulega fegurð og sjálfsást hefur aukið sjálfstraust fólks til þess að sýna sitt rétta andlit. Á Instagram er hægt að finna fjölmarga notendur sem deila sinni baráttu við bóludjöfulinn. Sumir sýna hvernig húðheilsa þeirra er hverju sinni á meðan aðrir hafa lært að elska húð sína.

Once I had a co-worker of mine comment on my skin. He wasn’t being super mean or anything but I felt like it was so inappropriate and rude, I couldn’t believe that a man who could be my father would comment on my skin. He said something along the lines of “You shouldn’t put so much foundation on, your skin would get better if you didn’t.” And I was just standing there staring at him. I don’t get why people say shit like that. As if we didn’t know that we don’t have clear skin? As if someone pointing it out would help? Like what would they like us to respond? “Oh yes thank you middle aged man who basically doesn’t know me for your opinion on my skin my life is different now!”😂 And I have to be honest here because that’s how I roll, I had to fight back my tears in that moment because A) I cry about everything, show me a dog video and I’m sobbing🐶 and B) WE WERE AT WORK, like, WITH CUSTOMERS AROUND🙃 I hardly ever get comments on my skin which I’m very grateful for because Hi Hello It’s not helpful but for those of you that do on the reg: Don’t listen. Don’t let it drag you down. Don’t let it make you insecure. Don’t let it question if you should’ve put on makeup (or more makeup). Don’t let it question your worth. Basically “Nolite te bastardes carborundorum” (if you get that reference we’re best friends now) __________________________________________________________ #acnepositivity #acneproblems #acnescars #acnescarring #acnesupport #skinpositivity #skinjourney #youarebeautiful #naturallyme #selflovespo #makeupfree #embraceyourflaws #problemskin #adultacne #acne

📣HEALTHY SKIN IS NOT ALWAYS PERFECT SKIN📣 ______________ I have a beef to pick with a lot of skincare company ads, they go something like this “LET THIS SUMMER BE THE SUMMER OF YOUR HEALTHIEST SKIN YET!” *enter picture of a woman (usually thin, often white) with a photoshopped complexion free of any pores, lines, hyperpigmentation, zits, etc.🙄Your healthiest skin, they say, is PERFECT skin. 🤨NEWSFLASH: your skin is an ORGAN: An ever moving, living part of your anatomy that works to protect your body everyday. It’s main functions include protection, regulation, & sensation. What it DOESN’T include? A perfect ‘canvas’ for makeup, photos, a beauty trophy, or any other ornamental use we are being told our skin serves.🙅🏻‍♀️ ______________________ YES, chronic skin conditions can be connected to imbalances in the body. But the OPPOSITE of unhealthy skin is not necessarily perfect skin.🚫STOP: please read again.⭐️HEALTHY SKIN DOES NOT = PHOTOSHOP PERFECT SKIN.⭐️It means BALANCED skin that does it’s job & function well. For some, it looks like perfectly clear skin. For me (and others with different genetics), it can look like stress breakouts here and there with hyperpigmentation DESPITE my skin being the healthiest and most balanced it’s ever been.🤷🏻‍♀️After years I can say confidently my skin is healthy, despite it not looking like a covergirl model’s. ______________________ Our obsession with perfection has not only caused a mass hit on female self esteem, but also exploited real health to sell more unrealistic beauty standards.😡The pursuit of perfection in the name of health is, ironically, more damaging to our wellbeing than anything else. Let me be a reminder today:❗️HEALTH IS NOT PERFECTION.❗️And any company or product telling you it is has more an interest in money than medicine. You rock that skin baby girl.💃🏻
