Fjölmargir fengu að heyra þjóðsöng Íslands, Lofsöng eftir Matthías Jochumsson við lag Sveinbjörns Sveinbjörnssonar, í fyrsta skipti er sálmurinn var spilaður fyrir landsleik Íslands og Portúgal í kvöld á Evrópumótinu í knattspyrnu.
Sálmurinn virðist hafa fallið vel í kramið hjá sjónvarpsháhorfendum og þeim er hlýddu en viðbrögð þeirra á Twitter má sjá hér að neðan.
