The Icelandic civil protection says there are no signs of ongoing eruption in the north-western region of the Vatnajökull ice-cap. Emergency phase is still in effect, and will be reassessed at noon tomorrow.

Icelandair says no flight disruption is expected at this stage.

"We would like to advise our passengers that Icelandair does not anticipate any flight disruptions at this stage. We are closely monitoring the situation and will advise of any schedule changes should they occur. It is important to know that flight disruptions are not inevitable during an eruption of this nature and in this location,“ Icelandair says in a statement on its website.
